Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs has prohibited the use of TikTok on state agency devices.
- This announcement follows President Biden’s equivalent move.
- Governor Katie Hobbs issued an Executive Order prohibiting the use of TikTok on all state agency gadgets.

According to the order, state agencies have 30 days to comply and can file exemptions with “enough justification.”
The announcement comes just days after Arizona State University. The University of Arizona, and Northern Arizona University all stated similar prohibits on university-owned devices.
Hobbs claims that the move is being made to reduce risks associated with cybersecurity.
President Joe Biden’s administration has also issued strong warnings about TikTok. TikTok is a security threat, according to Secretary of State Antony Blinken and FBI Director Christopher Wray. Blinken tell legislators that the threat “must deal with in some way.”

However, some members remain to change.
“It’s like turning off your phone on an airplane.” That’s precisely what you should do. if it’s highly hazardous. I don’t think we’ll be permitted to bring the phone on the plane,” Â said Rep. Greg Landsman, D-Ohio, on Wednesday. “So, if having this app on a government phone was extremely hazardous for members of Congress. You have to imagine that the administration or the government at large would say completely not. You can’t have it on an administration phone”
Concerns about the type of content Americans come across online. Therefore how tech firms collect their data are not new. Congress has wanted to limit the amount of data that tech firms collect on customers through a national privacy law for years. Those efforts have frequently stalled.
However, Biden’s administration has hinted that a TikTok ban across the entire nation is not out of the question.
